love the "customised features, a headlight" , if that rings ya bells look up "vespino" an "vespa ciao" , tho ive always had respect for the spanish "thomas" ones . me n a few mates had one as a "offy-run hack" , ran on old fuel an vegetable oil, survived scrambling an being driven into the side of a bus an other misdemeanours.try as we might we couldnt kill it , best £30 moped i ever part-owned . Did it smell like chips ? some local buses used to run on recycled cooking oil , they smelt great !
Me and my mates had a similar off roader we found in a bush , think it was a Yamaha Passola ? it was hideous orange and white but good fun , how we laughed ! I don't think even nostalgia has increased their value :-)

showing my age now but in 1977 my mate and i had a garelli tiger cross, it was bomb proof . we paid £1.50 and a push bike frame for it as it was a non runner, the only thing wrong with it was the float in the carb was upside down, put that right and she fired up second or third kick over a year we gave it a good beating and still sold it for £20
good days

My forst 2 wheeled motorised transport was one of them, orange and white, GYB27K (or close to that). Then I progressed to a V100, and now £1000's of mis-spent money and yaers of over indulgence at rallies I am still loving the scooter side of motoring,, best thing I ever did upgrade to a V100 :-D

In a similar vein I've just spotted this Honda Melody
I used to ride my mums one of them round the back garden when she was out when I was about 12.

i once knew a bloke who had one of those thomas mopeds. he lived next door to a cop shop, his brother knicked it for a joy riding session. on his way home he accidentaly ran a copper over. thinking the copper would know him he proceeded to repeatedly run him over to finish the job off.
the copper was eventualy rescued when another copper came out to see what the noise was. lucky it wasnt a bigger bike.
funny i never sew this bloke again ( yes he was a bit strange )

Can't work out how many times he would have to run the Rozzer over, what was he thinking. From not riding to murder in 58 moves 😁

That Copper must've been a right unfit bastard to not be able to avoid a Tomas. Only thing I know of slower than a restricted PK 50 or a Sloath.

Tomas link not working for me. On a side-note noticed that Bultaco are now doing electric trials/off-road bicycle type things. Thought they might be fairly cheap, I was wrong.

My Granda used to have a Thomas for years, finally had to stop riding when he nearly ran someone over. He used to go to the bakers every morning on it to get bread, man the smell of that bread first thing in the morning, happy days. I think the bakers, like my Granda, is now sadly gone
