I have discussed this in another thread but am still on the fence on whether to run v90 or primmy primaries. This is my set up. 1974 v90 136cc MALOSSI MK II matched to cases 19mm Mazzy cut crank PHBG 21mm clamp style carburetor stock 20mm manifold et3 ignition lightened stock flywheel 4 speed primmy gears SIP Road Banana 10x3 tires I'm looking to build a fast city scooter that I can stay in the power band up hills and zip around on. I do have fleeting visions of wheelies and not puttering down to get groceries. I already have a Sprint lardy with a DR177 which I take out of town on longer rides so touring is not a real concern. Also, I'm done spending money so no short 4th in my budget . Some info below form the Scooterhelp Gearing Calculator

i kept the 90/100 primarys in for my dr130 build an was pleasantly surprised with the results .but it did make 1st almost redundant unless hillstarting ,with wheelie-ing tendencys .if i'd kept the scoot i was thinking the polini 23/60 primarys would of suited it better ,rather than going primmy 24/61 an exposing the gap between 3rd n 4th more .it was a "town" scoot an quite a red-light bandit ,you want a fast city scoot ,90 primarys for fast accel , primmy 1's for slightly faster top end .H

Looks like either setup will give me an acceptable top speed (50mph to 60pmh). I'll the check condition of the cush drive on both, that might be the deciding factor in the end. I want to get this thing on the road. Thanks for the feedback.

22/60 or 23/60 would be my choice both are just a little lower than the standard 125 box check scooter helps gearing calculator here

When I build mild/medium engines, I use the 90/100 primaries. Makes for a fast around town scoot: blows the doors off Vespa or Lambretta 200s, no problem zipping up hills and tops out at a REAL 90 - 100 kph. My preference is for the basic Polini kit over the Malossi for budget builds and I stick with the good old 19/19. The riders are absolutely delighted with the results.

I would have gone Polini as well but my friend gave me a deal on the Malossi kit. I'll see how it goes. I'm going to run the 90/100 primaries or something in between that and the primmy ratio .
