Question time again , :-) I'm restoring a v90 but I'm putting a PK engine in. The question that I've got is (probably been asked before) is the plug that comes from the stator of which I presume goes to the loom or regulator has Green , Blue and Brown wires . The loom I've bought from beedspeed has blue , black and green wires with alternative cut out switch positions. I would like to get the engine in and fire it up today so here is another question do I need to conect the wires of the engine plug for a start up ? (Hope not as regulator / lights ect are not wired up yet). Thanks in advance Daz

you only need the cdi wires connected to start it up , but best to add a wire with bared end onto the green connecter on cdi .you can then earth this to act as a kill-switch ,otherwise youve got to stall it or turn off fuel to stop the engine .in case of problems best to have a quick kill-switch . H

at a guess its blue to blue ,green to green ,leaving brown for the black , cant find my wiring diagrams at my dads today ,am home tommorrow an will check then .which wire on stator goes to earth ,i'm guessing brown above ,if you look an check that will confirm its the earth wire . H

Cheers I did think that but sometimes the most simple way isn't the right way. Lol but it sounds right to me. I thought it strange as it's the correct loom for scoot and engine. I'll have a look my self tomorrow it doesn't mention it on the wiring diagram it just says about taping up the unused kill wires. ? Daz

eh, unused kill wires , thats a puzzle , last night was drunk n this morn hungover , but memorys telling me on a 12volt lectronic blues the power feed to reg box ,an greens the power to cdi an also the kill-switch . beedys are the loom-gurus, so i'd say follow there diagram ,its what i use to copy when building my own looms .cheap-bastard i am , but will look n check myself on a pk stator ive got an my printed out/robbed wiring diagram .end of day if its not wired right you wont blow the shed up just lights/etc wont work ,so trial n error will get you ok in end .its just more satisfying when it works right out the box .H

Yes cheers Henri , it all sounds right to me I'll give it a try. Just trying to decide where to put the regulator. I'd like to put it under the nose , but I think I'm going to have to make some sort of bracket. Got the engine in and fired up today. :-) can't wait to get the rest of it done now. Waiting for stupid parts had been holding me up a bit. But plenty more to be getting on with. Thanks again. Daz

Regarding the unused kill wires you mention - I've got two green wires which come to a dead end in the cavity under the seat by the carb, reckon thats what they are? Dunno where they go to/come from.

After taking to Alan Beed today the green wires are kill wires and the green wire from my stator is also a kill wire. He said I could cut them and blank them off.
