Hi all. New to the forums so forgive me if I'm breaking etiquette, but I wanted to show off my new beauty, a navy blue 50s from 1994: Video direct linkI live in Japan and as you probably know, Piaggio continued to produce the 50s (as well as 100 and ET3) for Japan only, right up to around 2000. Consequently there are still loads for sale here in varying conditions. My one, bought for around £450, needs a bit of TLC but the body seems straight and sound as does the engine. The seller, a smallframe enthusiast, overhauled the carb (Dellorto 16/16) and did the timing. It starts instantly and to my untrained ear sounds good (by the way, my last Vespa was a PK50 25 years ago). The only niggle apart from minor rust is that the front drum brake catches a bit when I rotate the wheel by hand, so I should probably take a look at that. Apart from that, I love the thing and can't wait to get on the road in a day or two when the insurance is sorted. That's it, just wanted to share my excitement!

That's strange. I've just added a direct link to the video so maybe that will work instead.

Yes, seems like a Japan-only addition. Apparently you can get clear lens replacements which I might search out.

Thanks. I can't seem to find Culpina flat side repeaters on the web. Do you have a link to a photo or info?

I'm not sure the US ever had the bar-end indicators, theres all seemed to be on stalks front and rear from what I've seen. The Hellas were certainly fitted to some models for the German, Austrian and Belgian markets, and perhaps others, before the Japanese. I'm thinking specifically the 50 SR but they could've well been on others too. Clear lenses although out of stock. You may find them elsewhere.
