Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletedi, thought i'd take advantage of this forums "open mindedness" about other scoots an projects to get in a bit of bragging about my latest projects ,the red 1 is my 76 150 super daily hack ,restored by me from a wreck last year, only thing i didnt personally do is making the seat cover ,the welding an painting are my work,as is the blueprinted/optimised px150 engine it has ,the cosa you can see behind in garage is the cut-down one in middle picture ,which i'm altering to fit my missus better/safer an she seems to have a "80's scooterboy" alter ego coming out on it, as she wants it matt-black with celtic running dogs motiff's in ox-blood to match a tat she's got ,which as ive fitted a pk tank an am making up a custom seat base to lower the rider height by 3-4" were toying with the idea of a ox-blood with yellow piping (like laces) seat cover , with a "doc marten" label hanging at the back , the scoot is all cut n welded an rust treated an being prepped for painting , just needs the zip rear indicaters being flush fitted in engine side panel to match 1 in nearside panel an all major work is done just putting it back together without wrecking the paint left, an the 3rd piccy is a 62 douglas sportique frame ive just rescued from a "restorer" who thought filler could do the job of engine mounts/floor supports/an centre tunnel saddle , if you check the "swimming pool" vespa in welding tips this 1 was actually worse an had been filled over aswell , any way new floor an leggy bottoms an about 12 other welding patches/repair sections an 2 coats of rust cure/proofing an its off with a mate who's prepping an painting this one along side a vbb with px engine that we jointly own ,its his lamb-chop you can just see behind the red 1 in pictures ,which we built for him last year ,anyway i'm bragged out an me teas ready ,hope ya like the scoots , Henri

Nice! The Cosa project is very interesting, have you got more photos of the mods you've made to the frame? Are you going to fit all the plastic body parts back on the frame?

no bloody chance mate, i'm metal all the way,an that the missus has flogged em on flea-bay an used the cash raised to get a pair of sip tubeless rims in black with polished edges an conti-move tyres, for safety's sake ,that they look awesome is pure bonus , the only plastic? going back on is the headset covers ,just until i can get another set of bars an droop em an wheel-up a ali cover to fit, an the front mudguard being trial fitted in photo is a px cut down one in fiberglass ,cut to fit round the top shock mount , i could of got a metal 1 an cut it down but for the same money this came cut, tho i might take a quick mould of it before painting in case its damaged in future. so far the frame work is just cutting down the bodylines at the front an shortening the floorboards to match px floor runners ,an removing the underseat filter an moving the crossbrace it sat in to fit a pk tank, the work is a bit quick/rough at the moment as the scoot is needed on the road as a daily hack ,so all moulding/filling/tidying can wait til i get a chance next winter to pull it off the road an de-seam the rear end aswell,an do a proper paint job, its b&q matt-black barbecue paint at the minute in rattle-cans. if your interested/thinking of cutting a cosa i can take more detailed photo's of the cuts/lines an the problems you will encounter ,there a lot more complicated/sectioned than say a px frame to cut. an as all cut-downs " easy to cut, hard to get it looking right" ,before starting i asked around mates/mods/scooterboys an customisers an the general answer was " you cant do a worse job than piaggio did" as the 80's body styling of the cosa isnt popular in england .thanks henri

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletederes more photo's of the cosa ,had a day off so finished the paint blow-over ,still need to paint inside the panels/mudguard ,but need to flush fit the engine side indicater unit an re-inforce the cut edge before painting, couldnt resist putting engine in an wheels on as seat base is made an foam guy rang me at 12 to say foams done , an wanted to check the mod's had lowered the seat height enuff for my baby to get both feet flat on the floor ,which they have ,good news as i'd rashly/drunkenly said last night "if this dont work ya can have the smallie, when done" an she believed me? an started talkin paint schemes/colours this morning ,an had already decided she wanted a "hammerzombie" pipe coz she loves the name/shape,at 300 quid oops , just all the fiddly bits an a brake re-build to do now ,an finish overhauling the bitubo shock for the front as that stock 1 looks as big as a bazooka ,H

yep ,to cut n fit the px mudgaurd on a cosa ,had forks on/off about 20 times ,too old for my knees to bend that often ,an got a popped disc in my back from picking up a smallie frame last sunday ,old accident injury that goes regularly, an where the wall is gets full on sun in the afternoon ,stops me getting pasty from too much shed time, tho if working underneath does prompt afternoon napping, specially after a "pub (liquid)lunch" ,tho that might be from age , H

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletedthe final piece of the puzzle is done, got my seat cover back from the trimmers for the cosa , took my smallie fastback cover along too see if i could buy some thread to sew up a split seam, an he machined sewed an washed it whilst i waited n charged a fiver, bargain, looks like new now. got cover home an sewed on the DM label an fitted to the base . just waiting for a repair/re-inforcing patch of jb weld/glassfibre mat inside headset bottom plastics, they was cracked, to go off an its ready for road . reckon i'll get my missus to put her ox-blood's on an off to dr martin shop to get a photo on the wall ,might have a chance at there £500 first prize for best "doc's" photo'ed . that or being sued for copyright , if they cant take a joke f**k-em i'll counter sue for advertising revenue . an yes , even cut-down that is 1 fat-arsed scoot , but my baby loves her "urban assault vehicle" an has a perfect enuff arse nobodys lookin at the scoot when she's riding it , me ,i look like a bean-pole on a space hopper ,but dont care as its funny to see the looks from over scoots as they dont know what it is or disgust from purists as even tho they hate cosa's still think its a sin to cut a vespa , confuses them no end , H
