Was a good day, and a good turn out, was speaking to Eean before his power run. It was nice to see 3 small frames there yesterday.
Wasn't on the small frame as the wife would not let me pinch it.
Was nice to have a look at some of members scooters.

Was good to meet you both well..........7.9bhp!! fuck off I'm not having that, Gareth you noticed he only revved it to 7500, well spotted cause I was gobsmacked at that reading and he insisted it wasnt because it was jumping out of 3rd, dunno what went wrong but other people said he did the same to other scoots, not revving them to full power and lo and behold, the lammy motor he actually built won best lammie. My mate Ste said the T5 he did too had just had a Mallossi 172 kit fully fitted and setup by a shop and it showed only 1.5 bhp more than standard!! something is amiss somewhere? To put it another way, 15 stone on a 7.9bhp(call it 8!!) scoot will not do over 75 will it?? ;D ;D Anyway the motor is out to sort the gearbox probs and well done Ste for the tasty burgers Sorry you got that 'my scooters shit' trophy, thats a good reading isnt it for a standard scoot cheeky c@*ts ;D

Eean, nice to meet you also. I was surprised at your reading but to be fair if I was him I would not have been comfortable sat on a scooter bucking and jumping out of gear with a shop full of potential customers and friends looking on. I would not have given it "the berries" either for fear of doing more damage to your motor whilst on the dyno. He did say that it was jumping out and he had to hold it in 3rd gear at the time so I don't think you can blame Pete/the dyno. I wouldn't have put mine on the dyno if I knew it had a fault but each to their own. He was probably more mechanically sympathetic to your engine than you or someone else would have been. It was a fun day done for to raise money for a good cause. I cannot speak for him but I reckon if it was a normal day and you were a paying customer (as you have been previously I think you told me?) he would not have put on the dyno with the gearbox like that and he would have told you to take it away without charge for the session time or probably even offered to rebuild it it for you. I think you would have been complaining more if your gearbox had have self destructed, no? He has built plenty of motors that go up and down the strip. I also know that his dyno sessions are booked up a lot in advance so he must be well thought of. I disagree with your cynical view of him promoting his own work above anyone else's. The 2 lambretta's that were highest were 20.76 and 20.91 which you will admit there is nothing in it and I know that he didn't build one of them for certain as it was my mates own handy work and I don't know about the other. As for "something amiss somewhere" - I cannot comment on the lardy you mention but I have heard anecdotal evidence of individuals buying kits and bolting them on and having similar results. Even so, how do you explain my standard prim (with polini snail) showing a healthy 5.4bhp on a 1976 standard bore barrel then? I only put it on for a laugh and if I hadn't I'm afraid you would have won it as it was a fun day "joke trophy" for the lowest reading - not a criticism of the whole scooter. You said it yourself yours rides really well and does 75mph comfortably so why are you bothered? Please don't get caught up in the horsepower thing and doing Pete down in the process - it's about how it rides and you have undoubtedly made a good job of it. I would be more than happy with your scooter in my garage regardless of the Bhp figure as it is something to be proud of (with the gearbox fixed). That Franz pipe is very cool and sounds great - it's the first time I have seen some of Mathias smallframe work in the flesh - it makes me want to order one (no cash ) I enjoyed meeting you and all of the other forum members there and hope we can all get together at some point. Elvington? I have never typed this much in a post but thought I should as in my view it painted an unfair and biased picture of someone I consider to be good at what he does and he is not a forum member and therefore cannot comment for himself nor, knowing the character of the man, do I believe he would he wish to have such a discussion in the public domain. I hope that I have not upset you or anyone else in the process and that you get your gear box fixed and get it back on a dyno for your own piece of mind in the future.

I wrote the thread in humour really mate, I don't blame Pete for anything and after stripping the motor tonight I know exactly why it only produced the horsepower given, the clutch woodruff key has sheared and the christmas tree bearing in the casing has gone too, enabling movement to the gears so it jumped. The shaft must have been struggling to grip with the spider and losing power, once fixed I will go back to Pete and get it dyno'd again and yes I do agree he was being sympathetic with the motor so not to do more damage, he did say there was something wrong inside here whilst pointing directly at the casing where the bearing is too ;D, I dont doubt he knows his stuff and did not see the other scoots on the dyno either, as I said I'm going off what others said. As for the shit trophy, I dont think I meant any bad remarks about you winning it, just it seemed to me to be take the piss out of the smallframe people really, I dont know if I felt like that as I'd just had the complete piss taken out of me by everyone in that room all laughing, how would you feel? I know I was embarrassed anyway ;D Anyway, I didnt think I was being cynical and if that upsets anyopne i'm sorry. Off to order some parts now

yes, well done to them all, I have done all the work to my scoot and spent a hell of a lot of cash doing it, on a big learning curve really so when someone says to me after a dyno run, theres a skip outside for it, in front of a lot of people all laughing while I'm trying to work out whats wrong with it, I think I'm ok with being a little offended Well done to Pete and his staff though for raising the cash for a good cause, anyone know how much was raised?

Yep that's not bad for a little do. I forgot to mention Wigan George who was really good as well in a funny sort of "errr?" way. His rendition of 664 "the neighbour of the Beast" had me laughing or Paranoid - worth a look on youtube.
Glad you know what the issue is now hope the rebuild goes well. I did hear a few worthless comments myself and had to bite my lip. catch up again soon.
I'm seriously thinking about one of those pro cup kits for my next motor..

oh yeh I was introduced to Lee on the Lammy as he's having a go at BSSO sometime soon in the street class, nice bloke. I'm sure he wont mind me saying that when I was riding back down the east lancs road on the "Shittest Scooter" I found it slightly amusing that the "winning" scoot was propped up against a lamppost with Lee and his spanners out ....so we stopped ...turns out he was only trying to re attached a loose wire thankfully

It's the taking part that counts. Although, my polini better pull 9+ bhp next week on the dyno or I'm gonna be a very un-happy bunny 8 months it's took me to even get it to move, think I'm representing the youth of the smallie world not too well atm with my lack of building skills. Aslong as I can go up the strip at elvington I don't care :') Aslong as it's done by then.

Josh you'll get there with it fella Ordered all the bits for mine to get it back on the road again, I realise now how I wrote the first paragraph about something being amiss, I actually meant with my motor ;D Its a good job I stripped it really despite the bearing going the scoot still pulled well on the way home and I may have just put it away and not done anything about it till it broke down, selector seems a bit worn so the DRT one is going in too. 3rd time lucky hopefully on the dyno next time as both times theres been a clutch issue or something connected in that area now to balls things up I've never been interested in the pub talk my bhp is so much, just after doing many mods to it I just wondered what power it actually gives to the claimed 21 by stoffis garage it gives!

I would say that all dynos read different. I know Psl's is quite conservative.. its the lower range model from dynapro I think. This isnt a bad thing when it comes to racing mid you! Most eurpoeans tuning houses use the P4. This does seem to read higher than a dynapro Eean. So dont stress.

;Dcheers Tony, you know what, the actual thing is I want to know that the power the kit produces is actually making it to the rear wheel, then I know its working ok, I've probably been riding a fair while by the looks of things and not getting full power, I wouldnt have found this out without it going on the dyno.
