It finally gave up on him yesterday on the way to work and had to get recovery home last night. Fair play tho as its been used non stop nearly everyday since broght in 98. never had engine rebuild. still using factory seals and all that. After telling me what happened, its been my job to inspect it today and I guessed on the clutch being the problem. Right I was. After taking the clutch cover off I noticed the basket rivets had sheared completely and all the clutch gubbins just fell out by hand. Wank But I cant get the rest of the cosa clutch unit out, how its all fell apart means I cant pull it out in anyway. any tips, help, advice an all that much appreciated tsch, bloody lardy's ;D

If you have the cases split you may be able to knock the crank out of the remaining basket I think.

Splitting the cases will be the only safe way of doing it like 2fast said, unless you can some how wedge something behind the basket to pry it off, all depends what you wedge behind it and how delicate you are

I managed to get the rest off with some heat and a puller thing I found. bits of sheared metal have fell into the engine so its a stripdown job anyhow. Just hoping nothing else has destroyed itself

hi mate.. sorry to hear this. Check for cracks in the casing where it is thin between the clutch housing and gear cluster shaft in case anything went between the gears. While apart new mains and seals would be a good idea as well as seal on the layshaft.
