Why is it when i rev up my 200 engine the kickstart wants to go into the full dive position . . . It doesn't happen at low revs . . . I've just built a new Rally 200 engine - old casings with new gubbins . . . Rev up & the kickstart drops with the ratchet noise you'd expect when you use the kickstart with the engine running . . . Any ideas . . .?? Cheers, Davie.

It can only be a problem with the return spring and cog but what exactly I can't say.

Opened the engine up - nothing amiss. Put back together - same prob . . . The engine was built with brand new kickstart, quadrant, pinion & LML xmas tree on a Rally spindle. I don't know what was genuine Piaggio & what was pattern - can't remember. I hear folks say that the T5 quadrant is the same as the Rally . . . but is it? It may be that the supplier has sent me a T5 quadrant . . . The teeth that the kickstart fits on is the same as the T5 but what about the teeth that controls the pinion & the general shape internally? Anyone know? Anybody got a spare Rally kickstart quadrant that i could buy . . ??
