Hey, didn't you write The Dangerous Book for Boys? Not sure what you'd do with your carb, tbh... How did that thread get stripped? Have you tried a different screw? Maybe you could close the hole up slightly using a small bolly and a hammer...

The thread was striped when i got the carb. have looked at the carb today and its actually more cross threaded than stripped?

Maybe someone has tried to force in the wrong screw. You could try & obtain a new one... I have a PX carb but I think it's a 20mm.

Can you not cut a thread size one up and use a new screw

For a precision job like this I'm guessing a helicoil wouldn't be ideal... Maybe something like a nylon sleeve glued in. You'd have to cut the hole to the O/D of the sleeve and remove all traces of swarf. Makes you wonder if it'd be easier to just locate a new carb. If you want to use a proper (non-box) carb, I have a manifold.

its running much better now, just need to re jet it as it bogs down slightly in first and second. it is a standard px125 with a expansion exhaust, atm it has a 120 main jet. what size do you suggest i change this for? thanks
