First off, Sorry ! Not a smallframe question !!
Bought a T5 as a daily driver for 4 mile commute, keeping Primmy for best !
To cut a long story short, I removed clutch cover to clean and inspect brass plunger, Instead of three 10mm bolts, I found two 10mm bolts, and one 11mm bolt ?
After cleaning, on putting it back together, the 11mm stripped it's threads !
So it's already been enlarged and it's stripped again !
What the Fuck do I do now ?
Went to engineer today he said no helicoil will fit ?
Do I drop engine, maybe weld case and re tap ? Or chemical metal ?
Really stuck ! Please help !
Do I bite bullet take to someone who knows more than me ? But who ? Engine shop, scooter shop ?

yes mate drop the engine.. weld it and re tap back to M6.. The modern PX`s have the same 3 M6 threads holding the clutch cover on, but instead of the 10mm headed bolt theyve fitted a 8mm headed M6 bolt.. i think this is an atempt to stop over tightening... out of interst is it the one nearest the christmas tree nut thats stripped....

It's the one at the back end of scooter !
Sort of 4 o clock position if you luck straight at cover !
Cheers Col, I'm in Redcar, know any shops round the north that can deal with this job ??
Chiselspeed, Motech or just an engineering shop ??

What ive done with my malossi because i tend to have it apart to service the clutch more often than a standard machine and was worried about stripping the threads ive used lambretta chain case studs and loctite them in and use 10 mm nylock stainless nuts and flat washers ....saves having helicoils, repair work ect ...

I have done the stud trick for years on heavy tuned bikes it works much better , I would weld it up and re tap the hole, and remember it just has to be snug not balls to the wall tight ...
