found an old 50 barrel that is seized. so decided i would get my air die grinder ( will be investing in a electrical one soon enough though - the compresser is not big anough to do any serious messing about with thats why some of its left, it had all being reacently 'ported' by my brother grant, his first barrel but i stepped up the game and gave this gal a once over, please read the text below some of the pictures and if you have any tips, ideas , or dremel bits ( or dremels ) that are good i would like to here it so shout out! - mabye i should have put this in technical?
as you can see i only did one sede beacause the compresser is too small and i spend half an hour pissing about doind nothing so i left one half
as you can see got rid of the bridging peice, or whatevver you want to call it.
after asking about it i heard it help keep a 'controlled flow' from the transfers ( but its not as important in lower cc's i think thats what was the jist ) and after looking into other small 50-cc barrels they do indeed remove these bits in a high state of tune should i call it
no that mark in the boor really wanst me!
shiny exhaust port, if you look carfully you can see the way the old tranfers were done but i forgot to take one of inside the barrell doh!
were the transfers open ( think the EX duration is about 200 and the Transfers is 136 if i remeber rightly, going to stagger the boost port aswell i think ( higher duration but any advice on what duration would be nice i was thinking about 0.5mm above but that is a complete geuss!
was a twist and go cylinder thats why i have gone high on the timings but mabye too high? tell me what you think, tip, tricks.
i was intrested in the little debate about how the gases make the flow next to frictionless, but, even if the ports look smooth and shiny, there still going to have minute cuts in them right, and that will trap air and make another frictionless surface that less carbon sticks to right ?
anyways tell us what you think, its not to great, i stopped with the dremel part way through and theres little bits i need to smooth over ( yes i have seen the little hill in the tranfers )
