sounds goodd how did you get the throotle to snap back then ( i think it was you who said that it wouldnt return? )

I replaced the throttle cable with a nylon-lined bicycle brake cable, and routed it carefully, and that improved it.
Then my mate mentioned that a late PX has an additional spring in the headset around the throttle tube. Just when I was considering getting one I found one in the garage (it came with the disc brake conversion parts).
The PKXL headset even has the anchor point for the spring cast into it! I just had to drill a tiny hole in the throttle tube; the whole job took about 15 mins, and that included greasing the tube!
