can anyone tell me what the differences is between px 200 crank and px125, i know they are the same stroke, so what else? are they interchangeable. if so do the same bearings do each casing, p2 and p125

The webs are thicker on the P2 crank but not sure about anything else.I'm fairly sure Oz uses a P2 crank in his 166 and he'll be able to tell you for definate.

Bearings are the same, crank web on the inlet side is thicker on 200 cranks. Won't fit in a 125 without modifying the cases.

You can either modiify the casing or the crank web to fit a 200 in a 125 case. The 200 crank has a 5mm longer rod, so needs a pack plate, and uses a 16mm gudgeon pin. I use a Yamaha smallend bearing to fit a 125/166 piston to a 200 rod.

OZ just out of curiosity what benefits is there to using a 200 crank in 125 casings? is it for strength and would you pack up the mallossi cylinder to compensate rod length would this make more torque. Using a 200 crank means you can run a wider inlet port. Mine is a 60mm stroke 200 crank, so 3mm longer stroke and 5mm longer rod. It needed a 6.3mm packer and mods to the piston for the ports to line up. It goes quite well When tuning a 125 to anything more that bolting on a kit, I always convert to 8mm barrel studs.

Very interesting OZ, It sounds like alot of work to put into a 125 engine to get power which would be easier found in a 200 or T5 motor, In the other hand it sounds like a worth while conversion if you only have access to a 125 engine which i suppose are more readily available and cheaper than the others, so its interesting to see the less desireable 125 engine put to good use! I have polini 177 motor ported in one of my scoots and easily runs with P2s as its very torquey, have you tried your conversion on a polini? The work youve done seems a good idea and should be in more demand soon as the p2 and t5 engines become more scarce and expensive, so good luck and keep er, lit. ;D ;D

It has 19hp on the dyno. Is more than a match for many 172/210s. Engine is currently living in my scootercrosser.

The engine use to be in my rally going bike '99/'02 with P2 primarys. Now got T5 primarys in it. The crosser does have a daytime MOT. It's fun, but a bit revvy for any distance work.
