The one on the right pretty much is a daily driver and has seen Rallys all over europe. With a subframe and a P2 engine fitted though. Both right up my street. Love it

They both (ves & lam) look so sorry for them self's!! I'm sure there owners love them very Much and look after them etc but at some point i think even stplce's pray of blue paint could be a welcome site ; ) I don't know, I think they look their age and nicely demonstrate that even though they have clearly seen a bit of live they are still perfectly good at doing what they where meant to do. I rather think the respayed, rechromed and molycoddled stuff looks a bit sorry for itself. A bit like an attractive woman, maybe a decade or five older than 19, destroying all that makes her attractive by surgically having a uniform draped over herself. I wouldn't want to be 19, or look like 19, again btw.

Love em - but perhaps only really practical for dry riding?
Breezer - hi! are you finding the feet of your log holder sinking into the grass or will you use it on hardstanding maybe?

There's stuff like Owatrol which you need to apply like twice a year. My racer was blasted and never had any paint on it after that, and it used it for endurance racing in the rain and for god knows what, it's been like that for some 5-6 years, and it still looks exactly the same.

Hmmm I can see your point but If I look back at photo's now if when I was 19 I sometimes cringe, (what was I thinking with that hair?) sometimes a bit of age and perspective gives us the opportunity to improve on what we already have by accessorising with style, grace and maybe a little paint? Yes I'm still talking about scooters lol

Yes I'm still talking about scooters lol What's style if not a deviation from a mainstream? Mainstream is just fashion. I think not giving in to the the-younger-the-better shite may already be a question of style. Wearing battelscars with pride certainly is. On top of that the whitish scooter in the picture is a Messerschmitt T2. Quite a lot of people are prepared to pay serious (and I mean 5 figure sort of serious) money for these. Using one as a daily driver in a technically well maintained but otherwise slightly rough condition, and actually taking it to Vespa Veteran runs with truckloads of nondescript and overrestored scooters present means "fuck you, you, and you too". I think I like that.

Breezer - hi! are you finding the feet of your log holder sinking into the grass or will you use it on hardstanding maybe? NoI use it on grass and it's fine. The legs are flared out so I think that helps. If they were straight down I think it might have been a different story.
