Hi
Have any other smallframe owners noticed that their rear wheel hubs get a bit hot sometimes???
After a 20 min ride or so my rear hubs are really hot - especially the wheel nuts.
Has anyone else noticed this??? I cant see any problems with brakes or bearings but maybe there is another prob??
(I am running a smallframe V50, V5SA1T)
Cheers DRUMSKIN

What size tyre are you running on it?

Im running 3.00 x 10 Dunlop tyres.
Why would the tyre size make a difference??

Should I get it checked out or is it normal?
I was hoping that loads of other smallframers would say " yeah thats normal mate"

I have a few steep hills on my normal run from work.
Would a bit of heavy rear braking cause the rear hub to get toasty?

Why would the tyre size make a difference?? If you run a 3.50 on a V motor it's too large when expanded, rubbing and causing friction but no doubt you'd have noticed it if one had been fitted. I doubt you'd experiance the heat you talk about just by braking so I'd say have a look at the shoes and if they're not fouling then it's almost certainly a bearing issue.

tyre pressure OK? around 1.8bar = ~26 psi. A good warmed up tyre will reach temps of say 80deg. So mine do get warm - but I tend to ride my mopped (not the mod-geezer-style apparently)
