Hi, Only discovered this forum today from a link on another forum. Good to find you
And here goes, really hope someone can give some advice as desperate to get my scoot (PK80s) back on the road as until this weekend I use it every day to get to work.
When I bought it it had a Leo Vinci pipe. This is noisy as hell though and finally I took pity in my neighbours and decidided to do something about it. So, I bought a Sito Plus, new gasket and an elbow came too.
Had an absolute nightmare fitting it. Some bolts not wanting to shift etc. Hands now bruised and bloody too.
I took the Leo Vinci off and put the Sito Plus on, but was difficult to get all the joins lined up well (exhaust to elbow, elbow to cylinder). Wasn't convinced the joins were that well sealed as a result. Started it up and running really fast, bit smokey too and obviously not right. Gave up as got dark and decided to continue Sunday.
Tried to refit the Sito Plus. Much better this time , not running particularly fast, rode ok for about 50m before cutting out whilst idling. Couldn't restart though it was sparking and possibly a slight loss of compression.
Finally, enough was enough and I decided to put the Leo Vinci back. Started ok and sounded much the same as originally, but engine died after about 30 seconds and same problems trying to start again.
So, basically my scoot is now off the road and I've no idea what more I can do to it. Surely just changing the exhaust and putting back again wouldn't have had an effect on anything else?
If the seals aren't quite tight is it possible to use two gaskets to fill the gap up?
Any advice would be really welcome, I need it back on the road quick before I waster more money on trains like I had to do today.
Thanks.
