I have a spanish super, which I imported a few years ago. The small frame type with the spare wheel round the back light! I am now in the process of restoring it, its all stripped ready for blasting etc. Does anyone out there have any literature, original photos etc. I want to do it to as near original spec as possible. Cheers lads

Hi Stuart, There are a few Spanish sites which should help you out: www.scooterclasico.com (For spare parts) www.solovespa.com (For info, parts books etc) www.recambiomoto.com (For spare parts) Here's a picture of one of mine: Although not particularly pretty, this is one of the original colours. This is also a British registered one so has a MPH speedo. Other things specific to the Spanish Super are black "balloon" style handlebar grips with the embossed Piaggio logo, I think the headset is unique to the Super too as it's a different Diameter headlight to the ET3 and different Speedo, although I've not had the chance to check against an early Primavera so could be the same as that type. The coil is normally located under the seat above the choke mechanism and is of the Femsa type. Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of literature and photos, sorry. I'm not sure about all the colours they were offered in and the changes made throughout the production run etc, most of the stuff I know is just from taking them apart. Ah, I just remembered more things....The kickstart will be steel rather than alloy like the Italian type and how's this for an anorak fact........the kickstart spring dished washer inside the engine is actually flat on Spanish engines and not dished like Italian models! ;D Let me know if you need any help/advice etc and I'll help as best I can. Cheers, Rog

Rog What can I say, that is brilliant information, everything you describe is exactly what it has. Many thanks for your help. At the moment mine is red, however on stripping it down it would appear to have been originally a light orange color, so I am going to try and match it as close as possible. It has been registered and I have a log book etc, its currently on an E plate 1967 I believe. Nice to see someone else has got one, think there pretty hard to come by. Thanks again
