A decent Special you're usually looking anywhere between £850 and £1500....It depends if you're in the right place at the right time!...Good Luck!

if i was you i would go down the PK route. pick a decent one up for 500-800 quid, loads easier to work on. better storage, still very easy to get parts for that dont cost a bomb.

I'm not so sure about PKs being any easier to work on Will, they've both got pretty much identical workings and the Specials are so much simpler on the electrical front... They're much easier on the eye, too! And just to poo-poo chiligum's advice, I picked up my Spesh for £600!

I'll keep an eye out for you, but I don't know of any at the moment... ;D Anyway, 'nuff thread hijacking - Mitchell, I got my scooter by putting a load of wanted ads out and seeing what you get back... Check out www.scootertrader.com/ and stick a wanted on there, it's generally very good for this sort of thing...

what i mean easier to work on is that they have a split headset easy to change a cable and quicker if you ask me. i know what you mean they are a bit boxy but if you ask me the PKS looks like a small version of a PX. also some PK come with more mod cons. petrol gauge, tool box, larger removable panels.

Petrol gauge on a PK Ive never seen one lol! Is there any after market products you can get? Mitchel, my PK cost me £400 and im loving working on it, if your interested in a project then id go the PK route, even though i love the look of the specials they just cost too much and you get virtually the same scooter. Have a good look on ebay, there is always plenty of project scooters on there.

Yep PKXL has a Gauge. bigger speedo with guage, low petrol light, indicator light, main beam light. came with all the mod cons. As for converting yours it means new wireing loom new petrol tank and new bigger speedo with headset top.

Well i've got a Pk and i would trade it in any day of the week for a 50 Special even though my Pk is in top condition...The shape of it has nothing on the early classic looking Scoots (the only thing i love the Pk over the Specials is the larger headlight).
