after blasting another number was found stamped on the frame up by where the seat hinge goes its something like D2221, different from the frame number is this the norm ? we reckon it could have been stamped at douglas but why ? and could this lead to a bit of confusion if its spotted by plod or mot man

90ss's have two numbers. One by toolbox area. Its a 4 digit number on these bikes.

That is the italian type test number. you also find it on standard exhausts, etc.

is it? The number is almost the same as the frame number. Why did 90ss's have them?

yes it is the IGM-number, sort of a production- or type test number. Should be next to the under seat tool box.

jonny has the igm number next to his frame number and also has a different number by the toolbox hole.don't suppose it really matters how many numbers it has on it though.
