I always put normal (95) petrol in my car. Its not as if sat in traffic I would notice the difference of super (97).
I have always just used normal petrol in my scoot too but each time I fill up I am tempted to use super unleaded but then something stops me. Is it a good/bad idea to use super unleaded?

strange you should ask that, i read somewhere, the other day, maybe on ebay someone selling a scoot, said it was a good starter (first time) on super stuff, a bit tempremental on normal unleaded. I wondered if there was any benefit on running on super myself.

Super's got a higher octane level which is generaly nicer to your engine though normal unleaded is ok, always find my scoots run a lot smoother on super

well the lower the octane, the easier it is for the petrol to self ignite. so if riding with an aggressive timing, then a high octane fuel should be used. -is my "opinion"

And you are right.. use super. keeps the motor safer. You then can use higher comps and more advance as it burns slower, for more power ;D

say you had half a tank of unleaded,
would it make a difference if you put super into it? or would you just have to keep using unleaded?

Well I have now changed from normal petrol & mineral oil to super unleaded and motul710 fully synthetic oil. The benefits so far:
1) I feel smugger 2) The oil smells rather nice when I am mixing it 3) I might be getting more of a performance boost than by using a multispark thingy 4) My engine starting problem when hot seems to have gone away but then I have also taken the head off and put back on with very careful tightening as I might have had a small air-leak. 5) I feel like I am looking after my scoot more ;D
