Hi Everyone,
Pleased to meet you!
I have used this forum a lot and have usually found what I need, but I have a problem that I cannot find the answer to. Chances are the answer is simple, the solution not so much...
I have recently picked up my first smallframe, a Malossi kitted Primavera, and I love it However the gap between 3rd and 4th gear is too big to hold it in the power band. The primary cog is 29 tooth, and I have bought a 27 tooth replacement which by my reckoning will work fine.
However, after having a nighmare getting the clutch out (retrieval thread was stripped and woodruff key sheared and smeared- 4 hours I will never get back) I now find the small gear is also stuck on the end of the crank.
The new gear has two threaded holes for a puller, but the one on the scoot has none.
I cannot find any videos, etc of anyone putting this on or removing, but what I have found suggests it should slip on and off.
Please could anyone confirm if this 'should' be the case?
As I thought this was suppposed to be easy, the engine is still in the frame, but TBH, other than ease of access I dont see that removing it will make much difference. There is no gap under the gear to get a lever. I've tried some heat, but again, have no lever point.
My next attempt will involve JBwelding a puller directly to the gear and seeing if the bond is stronger than the gear fit- I dont have a lot of confidence in this working, but still easier than stripping down the engine and hammering the crank through...
Even better if someone has a tip or method I can use instead
I was going to add a pic, but got an error saying the forum has exceeded its maximum space allocation!
EDIT- seems I can add a link-

-and made the subject title more polite!!
Thanks for any advice -
Cheers,
Nick
