Hi, i’m trying to get my primmy back to life. It has a rebuilt engine with a Mazzucchelli standard crank small taper, Polini 130 top end, Polini banana and upjetted 19/19 carb. It has an early PK flywheel and 12v stator. It didn’t have a junction box so the wires came loose and I snipped them a year or so ago to put a new junction box in. Can’t remember how they went back together now!
From the main loom underneath i have 3 wires (red, yellow and green) then another cable with 2 wires (blue wire and black wire). Coming out of the stator hole I have 6 wires (red, white and black and then 3 dark green ones).
Any ideas what goes to what please?

Red, white and black go from stator to CDI and give you spark.
The green ones should be for lights. Do you have a voltage regulator installed on the frame side?

A few questions:
- Do you have a battery?
- Do you have a regulator? If yes, what are the wire colours at the regulator?
- Is this the original stator and harness?
- What is the frame number? VM... ?

Yes, i have a voltage reg with black, grey and white wires in it. In the CDI, there are 4 wires - red, yellow, 2 x green
VMA2T frame number Assume the wiring loom is standard apart from the PK stator plate and voltage reg and CDI

Ok, here's the best I can do "over-the-phone". Out of the loom you have one bunch of wires with red, yellow and green. I'm going to guess that it is a pale yellow and actually just a discoloured white. So this is the feed to the CDI. You have three greens off the stator. Two is normal so the third must be a power wire, normally blue. You need to pull the flywheel and confirm the wire locations to see which green is which. Referring to this diagram: You can see how the wires connect to the stator. The pick-up and the low-tension coil are right next to each other. They will have the red and two greens. The white and black are just grounds. You need to figure out which green is matching the blue in the diagram. Stator --- Harness Red --- Red White --- Yellow (discoloured white) Green (1 from pick-up) --- Green Black (stator ground) --- Black (chassis ground) Green (that mimics blue) --- Blue The harness is not stock and/or has been modified as that wire combination was never found in an VMA2T. Hopefully my suggestions will work. If not, which would not surprise me too much, I'll need a ton of photos to figure out what's up.
