I want to fit Dzus fasteners instead of the 3 bolts for the petrol tank. Anybody done this? Anyone got any ideas which ones and what size?
TIA

yeah but what about the rear fixing seat post jibbyjabber or whatever the fuck its called, stops the seat moving side to side when your going really fast round twisty bits of road, i think they are ok for the fixing of plastic/metal panels on bikes and shit but id not fix a tank with them as id not want the tank loose and rubbing on the frame or seat or moving whatsoever, if on the other hand they fix tight as fuck then go for it

I have used some that have a posi screw head not the slot and are adjustable, they twist and lock, but agree with scratch sniffer won't hold a seat very well. the type im talking about are smaller diameter than dzus fasteners so better suited to a smallie space. if you can think of a way to secure just the seat fixings and dzus on the other holes. if your trying to save time removing the tank it would still help.

just a note , i have a long range tank and the last owner tried to enlarge the hole in the tank bolt holes and ended up going into the double skin part of the tank and it leaked.

I really hadn't thought about the rear post. I've got a magnetic clamp on there for my Nisa Sport seat but a Dzus fastener wouldn't fit on it anyway. Ah well back to thinking of other things to do. Thanks for your input. Oh, hang on, has anyone got a solution for the rear post fixing as regards not having to shove your arm up under the body to hold the nut for it? Maybe some sort of captive nut thing? TIA

it should have a captive nut at he back post, and early frames have m7 bolts and later ones m8 just put a couple of spot welds from tank to frame and easily ground off later lol
