Hello everybody,
I was wondering if it is possible to fit the stator from a pk50xl e start to a pk50S/xl without e start but with indicators. The problem with my pk50xl is that the engine will run, but when switching on any elektronics it will struggle to stay running. when switching on the indicator it will even stall out during driving at the interval the indicators flash at. (on/off/on/off). checked the full system, no shorts. no bad wiring. i suspect the stator is bad. Bought the scooter like this. Found out about the problem after fitting the lights.
I happen to have a complete engine from a pk50xl with e start. is it possible to fit the stator/flywheel to the pk50? pins on the connector are the same. amount of coils divers. Here is a photo of the current coilpack:
and this one is what i want to fit:
is this possible? my voltage regulator is still a 3 wire version. but i have the correct one for the e start if its needed

they use different internal diameter flywheels , the lower 6 pole stator will fit an work but will need the matching flywheel. H

The lighting coils are not in circuit with the ignition coils. They operate independently. Do you have a ground wire between the engine and the body?

No i dont have a seperate cable between the body and the engine. Is it standard on a pk50? And where should it be? I did use a jumper cable between the engine casing and body to use as a aux grounding.

You should be able to either short the entire lighting circuit to ground, or remove it entirely and the engine would still start, run and stop normally. My guess is that something is wired incorrectly, possibly in the headset, which is feeding back and shutting off the engine. You could try removing the kill green from the CDI box and see how it performs then. You'll need to stall it to shut it off though. If it otherwise works fine, then you have found your problem and just need to find the errant wiring.
