clutch on polini 130 4 plate, kickstart just goes straight down, engine does not turn over, took off clutch cover, and tried to undo clutch nut but just turns with shaft ? any ideas how to get clutch out ?

wedge the kickstart down to engage kickstart cog with the tree an try again ,or put it into gear an clamp the very end of output shaft in a vice . or fold up the tab washer so you can get a extractor onto the centre an with a big socket an the bolt compress clutch.pop out the circlip an plates ,release spring plate an remove spring .then try locking the centre with a bar through the tabs or a clutch locking tool an try to undo again .tho you might find the nut an shaft still turn as the centres slipped on the taper an done the key .H

Likely hood is the sudden bang on the gears would dislodge a tooth or two from some part of the gears.
If the engine is getting a full strip and rebuild (which sounds likely) you could split the nut with a mini grinder. Just get all the swarf out of the engine

Just get all the swarf out of the engine thats one i didnt think about ,drilling or splitting the nut .H |

Done it on other stuff cut along the slot that the w key sits is, can get messy so only the very last resort

That sounds like a cu¥¥t of a job got it , held axle shaft with grips and used socket on nut , came off easy ! fitted new clutch centre and key, works great |
