as chassis is coming along ,time to start on engine .54mm full circle crank ,reed inlet ,vmc 7 port ali-barrel . so start with opening flyside up to take full circle crank .thinnish cases so were it had to be trenched for big end the locating ring was very thin an would snap of by fingers .so dowel the cases to locate ,bottom right in picture ,an remove ring entirely . weds 002 by henri briggs, on Flickr . start roughing out the inlet on clutchside case ,an a dry build to discover what packers required an were barrel spigot sits down too ,so i can raise inlet roof to match . spesh6 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . 8mm packer made ,with a .3mm gasket below an .95 above gives a 1.1mm squish friday 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . so back to smoothing inlet an maxing out the roof so it matches spigot line weds 003 by henri briggs, on Flickr . then build ,an check exhaust fit an choose a carb ,could only get 4 stroke phbl 24mm so swapped atomiser bush for a 2 stroke one with shroud ,an its ready for the stand and 1st start . VID_20210915_155113 by henri briggs, on Flickr . then in the chassis ,which during week i'd been doing the little bits on ,floor runners, wiring, etc friday 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr should get it finished this week with luck .H

BILD2398 by henri briggs, on Flickr . a wet morning an a fading pet meant being stuck in the house so i thought i'd use the time wisely .not been happy with the feel of the crimaz easy-clutch ,to heavy on my hand with a long arm cover .so out with that an in with a polini single spring set up . BILD2399 by henri briggs, on Flickr . an on with the VMC "race" pipe , a remarkable easy fitting with none of the usual adjustments required . BILD2402 by henri briggs, on Flickr BILD2403 by henri briggs, on Flickr . then time to release into its natural habitat , put it on insurance an off to mot it nxt .H

Well I learn something new every day. Am I right in thinking you changed it without removing the tank, carb and rear shock bolt... just the wheel and exhaust? Never thought there would be enough room. That'll make changing that primary gear a lot easier this weekend.

Top tips. Thanks H. No hub locking tool just a dugga-dugga tool from Lidl that'll sort out that hub nut.
