Hi everyone. I'm the proud owner of a 1980 100 Sport. Love those curves. Newbie on 2 cycle motors. I can cold start the engine everytime (with the choke out on the 2nd or 3rd crank) BUT during idle (after choke is pushed in) the motor will start idling rough then cut out after a couple minutes. ALSO, after I've ridden for a few miles then shut motor off, I cannot restart it. I have to wait awhile until it will restart again. Any suggestions on what to look at first? Thanks in advance!

Nice!
I would start by carefully cleaning the carb, especially the idle jet. Check the fuel tank for crap and maker sure the tank cap vent is not plugged.

Would a plugged tank cap vent not allow fuel to flow easily into the fuel line?

Yes, but it might take a bit of time before flow slows.

Check length of your fuel pipe too, if too long you can get an air block.
