After a few mainbeam and highbeam bulb failures due to high revs and unregulated power, in April edition of Scootering there was a tech feature on upgrading lighting etc., here it said a company who I have just contacted provide a 6v regulator which the site owner assures me will stop the bulbs blowing and I also ordered an LED stop/tailight board which fits into rear light with little modification, all for less than 60 quid. Will let you know the results when I have received and fitted it

Its an RG6 regulator How much would you expect to pay? He has charged 29.95 for it. Maybe through my mistake, someone else might not get ripped off so if you have a source that is cheaper let everyone know eh

Well 30 is just alright, maybe a bit cheaper at fleaBay; @ Stoffis the XT is 30Euros.
In turn that makes the LED-array a bit deer at ~30

Well I wired it all up as per instructions and booted it up, turned on the lights and smoke with no rear light but the brakelight worked, have emailed the guy, and all I have had in response is if it was wired up as per instructions there should be no problems!! Oh no! It must be me! I spent nearly 60 quid and totally fuckin' ignored the instructions and wired it all upto the coil instead haha! Have just emailed him and asked if he has ever fitted these products to a smallframe vespa, wonder what the response will be?!( if he can be bothered to reply as he hasnt to the last 3 emails I sent!) It totally pisses me off when some fucker gives bad advice which costs me money and the worst of it is, I got his details from the scootering article so how many other people have been duped?

Well he replied and says if I want to send the lightboard back he will send it back to the manufacturers for a report as to why it failed, hmm fat lot of good that is to me, the money stays in his pocket and I got no lights, surely it would be up to him to send me a replacement and sort it out with his supplier wouldnt it?? Is it me He says the lights in total should all be regulated but how can you do that as the lights and the brakelight run from 2 separate coils in the magneto, think he will suggest fitting two regulators who knows but the unregulated brakelight led worked ok with the tail section blown? I am thinking I should have just changed the faulty headlight bulb and kept the money in my pocket any thoughts anyone??

Yep that could have been a possibility Max but I really just wanted to upgrade a little and I dont really ride much at night so untill I do major upgrade for a Falc kit etc., and change the stator to a vespatronic or parma whatever, its gonna stay 6v for now, the regulator is working fine and have just ordered another for the brake circuit and reconnected to standard lights so the lightboard must be faulty, I will see what he says and take it from there
