it was no fun only gettin to the smallies at weekends so ive brought the v100 back to brighton , where its pissed down ever since ,that n my garage being broke into has given me the excuse to annoy my lodger an build the engine on my front room table, bottom ends put together with a pk 4 speed box in it , just the clutch n barrel to set up nxt , just a shame my flats on second floor or i'd build the scoot up there , am hopin the missus will clear a space in her flat n i can get on with it ,def want it done for chrimbo so i can take my hack of the road n do a set of bearings n seals on it , H

my flatmates use to always insist on havin hot baths just as me n mate had set up to spray scoot panels or bike tanks in bathroom , lost a few good paint jobs to "bloom" , wonder if the runabout went faster/slicker with soap-scum n pubes in the tank, at least it would clean the limescale off the bath , anyways ,i played removals man an shifted sum stuff about ,taped down a poundland tarp n the smallie is now behind the couch in missus's front room, her mum (a bit of a net-curtain washing fanatic) aint seen it yet but our kid reckons its "awesome" ,all i need to do is stop her ferrets scratching the paint work whilst havin playtime, anybody know where ya can get "ferret socks" from , H

ran the engine for the 1st time yesterday ,in the cradle not the scoot , 2 kicks with the kill wire grounded an it started 1st kick ,only let it tick-over for 15 secs an blipped throttle to half twice n then killed it, sounds ok so far, then let missus start it for 10secs ,an then kiddy (11 years old)nxt door begged for a go,so he got 10 secs aswell. well happy with how it seems. just stic it in frame an connect up now ,need 1 solderless nipple for throttle,2 bulbs for rear lamp an the screw for gearchange cover an fingers crossed its off to mot before chrimbo .1 problem tho my left wrist is crackered an in a support so will have to talk a mate into coming n helping get the lump in . oh an i'm left handed aswell . finished it yesterday ,went to wickes today n stuck sum gear oil in ,took it into street n fuelled in an it starts first kick , on way to wickes dropped in to see my mot-er an he's free all week so was plannin on getting mott-ed n stickin it under the tree ,for me , it needs slight adjust on gear cables but is selectin all 4 n clutch feels fine , i'd forgot to put tap rubber on but ive got one , 2 probs tho, no pilot bulb ,guessin its jus a bad connection on bulb holder , an the numpty 1 , i'd mixed up the brake switch with the 6 volt spanish one ,so its on all the time n goes out when pedals pushed , DOH, an right ones in hampshire an i wont be there n back til after chrimbo , so unless beedspeeds comes thru by the weekend it will be january before i'm on the road legal, H

Nice one Henri, good to hear another one is on the road.
I needed to scrape some paint off underneath the long screw that secures the speedo in the headset for it to earth, as I've no earth lead to the unit itself, which I think is typical.

finally ,after the switch mix up ,i got 1 from beedys ,swiss i'm afraid but they offered quickest delivery , put it on an lost all lights n horn , metered every where after removing bulbs n droppin brake block for shorts n continuity ,all fine , checked switch an it seemed fine ,til i checked feed contact to earth an it was shorted , pulled it an discovered 1 of the tags had a high corner that had cut thru the gasket as it was tightened down , 5 mins with a file an all good .lesson learned (again) short cuts always end up taking longer ,DOH. all back together ,slight weep on tap ,new rubber washer an 100 yards later (testing for health n safety) it dies , rubber had swelled n shredded coz of ethanol ,cant remember where washer came from or how long ago.(same as above, impatients will kill me sumday) anyways its finally finished ,ready for me to insewerants in morn an MOT ,happy days , Henri

yes i know , but puters are "devils work" to quote the same source , an beyond my simple 20th century brain, will have to chocolate bribe my 10 year old to do it , i reckon 2 mars bars n a "fattish goldfish" should do it , tho as she's a animal lover just holding a well-carved carrot over the toilet n threatening to flush might work n be cheaper/funnier , H/pb

running in?.. that is a strange concept, i just use them but do not nail them up hill or into the wind for the first 500 miles. after that there is no mercy i doubt that any of the track scoots get run in other than a couple of test runs to sort the jetting and timing

like all my projects this 1 will be sold to fund the nxt ,so i have to "run-in" or risk selling a grenade or blowing before sale, but like ya say my race engines where only ever "run-in" during jetting ,probably a hour max , but then had a life expectancy of 10-15 hours before a total strip an re-jig . so the v100 is doing duty as the daily hack/shopping bike/pootle round town.an ive so far managed to resist visiting WOT to see what its tops is , best so far is 40mph on the speedo, god knows what that is in reality . Not seen a SC28 in about 20 years, it'd need to stay decorative for me. That and the fact they were shite anyway.

oh god there crap, white line like a bitch , makes my usual hooliganism in traffic have a bit of spice , there the tyres that came with spanish robs scoot i bought an where thrown on for the mot whilst i chose better so at least 20 years old if not much more . there barely competent at running-in/shake down speeds so before new owner takes it in march "baby needs new boots" , an as i aint paying the choice just opened up magically .
