in the cold "sober" light of morning am thinking my response to smashingfish's post was a bit "precious" an against my earlyier promise to be a big boy an take it on the chin, took it as criticsm wen it prob wasnt,in my defence i'd had a day dealin with nurses/doctors/social services havin to control my temper an was lookin to pick a fight with anybody ,ended up beatin a voddy bottle into submission .sorry, an for those who want to weld its a easy skill to learn ,dont try first with gas-less migs there harder,an whichever welder ya get dont use the disposable bottles invest in a big bottle an proper regulater, hobbygas is 45 a fill an 50 deposit first bottle,an a reg an adapter about 30-40,its loads easyier with proper control over gas flow .ya local libary or amazon will have a book to explain the basics ,torch angle/joints/problem diagnosis ,then practice on scrap til ya happy .welding is 1 of the skills ya can be shown but not taught,ya learn it by doing it .weld 2 bits together put 1 in a vice an hit tother with a hammer ,when it dont fly across the garage your gettin it ok, an once agin am sorry for my childish reply if smashing fish wasnt being critical ,i am being punished for it already as my heads splitting ,i shouldnt be allowed out in public on my own is the general opinion amongst friends/family .seems it also should apply to computers/forums aswell. sorry again mate ,bad day an went to scoots for cheering up an found the crack round k plate coz sum italian tosser hadnt spot-welded it ,was movin it to paint nxt day as i thought it was ready, if i'd had a shave prob wud of picked a fight with geezer in mirror ,wouldnt off been first time, won the first fight with voddy bottle but bastard sent re-inforcements ,an payed for it for 2 days straight,or cross-eyed more like , so ive been punished ,an i hope ya accept my apology ,a bit off public/forum shame aswell. will try an behave in future , note the try ,i wont make bold promises as i'm 47 an havent got a handle on my temper yet ,maybe never will ,but will try an restrict it to the usual outlet ,"the naughty boys re-union annual night out off mayhem" ,due at end of august ,brighton beware ,last year was 2 arrests/2 hospitals/broke nose(me)/broke wrist/various bites/gouges an serious friction burns for 1 mate who didnt like his bald spot being referred to as his "solar panel",he was 1 of the ozzys visits an is now "terminally folically challenged" accordin to doc ,when offered to have a "shine put on it for a tenner" replied i'd like to see ya try, always shud be careful of what ya wish for eh , Henri

Attachment Deletedsomewhere in northern italy theres a retired spot-welder sat in a olive grove who's goin to get a surprise visit when i find the time , work-shy/bolshie cross eyed surrender-monkey that he is, found the reason for the earlier reaction/split in paint, a open seam on top of horncast at the horizontal seam ,it had harboured water an when i painted it came out , sealed it with some fine surface cellulose filler an painted today . Attachment DeletedAttachment Deletedgot 2 coats on before weather looked too dodgy to continue, weather permitting flatt it back in morn an paint some more after work .its "azurra laguna" a modern piaggio paint colour ,an yes before sum bright spark says it i will , its similar to tzsteves et3 colour , but i'd chosen an bought it before i saw his paint job ,an he used azure 2pac an mines celly ,an if ya dont believe me ,yah boo sucks to you an i'll come round ya house n get my pitbull to poop on ya doorstep whilst i piss thru the letter box ,not you tzsteve (an i got a run on gearchange again)but anybody else , an ya dont want "bully" leavin a pressie ,last time as we sauntered off i looked back an there was a guy with a oxygen mask n flag settin off with a team off sherpas to claim it for queen an country . an anyway i'm doin sky blue lines an speed-blocks so it wont be same an i bet steve beats me to the finish line anyway ,an i'm happy/liking it . Hey Hey, you have really got the smallie bug Henri, skiving off work to do a bit more on the smallie, love it The seam on the horncast is a weak sport for sure, worth welding up and flatting back, looks neat too (see Sugarlumps previous posts). Looking good

What's the story with the hubs/ rims. Are they 4 point fixing 9"? Not that it helps you much as it stands but you can get 10" conversions to suit.

Just rechecked, you've got the "dustbin" type wheels and not the split hub / rim I was thinking about. Presume they'll be Michelin ACS's for 9" so offer them out. Not that common but there could be some in need for them.

yep there up on offer on here an for a price on flea bay , seems theres only 1 tyre type for 9" rims block tread michelins for 27 bar , an i wanted sumting nicer on this scoot , tho i did find bar tread barrow tyres for a fiver but dont want to build a "scrambler" that would sound like a military land rover going along ,H

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deletedhavent sussed what to do about rims an had a crap week so took out my pain in devising a way to fit 8" tyres on 9" rims , a grinder , havent smelt burning rubber like that since me n missus last got drunk an went at "it" full on ,an no i havent got any veitnamese in me ,long time ago it happened other way round but i'll spare ya the details ,an yes i know it wont pass a mot that way ,specially with the molegrip tiller steering ,even with my motter ,but i dont have to carry the bugger in an out of garage/shed anymore , an dont feel so daft when i sit on it making brum-brum noises ,a very satisfying 30 mins after work ,its goin to take weeks to get smell/burnt rubber out me hair tho,H

Attachment Deletedheres a piccy of the "stable" this weekend , most work went into the spaniard but the v100 got its stand on an trial fits of badges n trim ,old loom out n new lectronic loom fed in its place ,just waiting on some bits n bobs an will build lump an stick it in ,its not getting ali edge trim like spaniard so will go see vw guy n buy some edge trim ,cant decide yet wether to get 10mm black vinyl woven look or 20mm grey cloth type, reckon the black might be too "strong" , he does the chrome look plastic stuff aswell but will look like i wanted ali trim n bottled doing it , which is sort of the truth i guess , H
