mechanic has just said he could lower my pk by 3 inch at the rear just by cutting the rear shock spring! would this be poss? I know the carb would get in the way at some point, so does it need the bellow? if not the frame hole could be made larger (taller!) giving it clearance...

why would he want to do that to your scoot? if he's really interested then buy an old cutdown frame, scoop out the top of the frame ( where the tank sits) fit a banana seat and centre tank and volia! ;D vespa chop come lowrider thingy! ;D

The best Lowrider I ever saw was on BBS about 4 or 5 years back. The bloke took a Bajah classic and extended the tinwork downwards, it looked absolutely superb! Just needed pinstriping. I'm sure Guy will remember it. And no, I never thought to save pictures of it.

if you shorten spring you'll therefore shorten shock and lose some of its travel.. There may be an alternative shock you could use tho(rs24 rear).. but tbh i think the idea is a little silly! ;D
