Yup, done that one too. now I'm a firm believer in locking doors. Sadly even the locking ones can come off sometimes if not absolutely perfect fit, I always double check now when re-fitting one.

I can still remember the sound of my first lambrettas panel skidding across the Tarmac after failing to clip it on correctly....
That'll be too nice to give away as a wedding present, get them a kettle.

Sorry about the fender.. I know how you feel.. My wife came home one day in a "mood" so I quickly put my freshly painted super on the side stand to go help her with groceries.. I didn't get the stand down all the way and down went the bike.. Perfect, virgin paint and all.. I just stayed out of the garage for 24 hours to cool down.. I did get over it and once something like that is done and overwith.. It's actually kind of liberating.. Lol (trying to look on the bright side) .. But really.. I didn't have to worry about touching it too roughly or babying it too much after that. Shit happens.. Your bike is lokking great.

Normally I'd agree with you, but this "wedding present" will finally get to them in time for their 10th anniversary, so the nicer the better.
To be honest if everything went together without hassle, I don't know if I'd enjoy it as much. Seems to me, if I wanted "easy" I'd just pay somebody to do it for me. I like having a perfect scoot, then riding it til its worn out, rinse repeat.
Thanks for the support!

So I'm living to regret my last post... finally had everything together, ready to fill engine up with oil, add gas, and start. thought I'd check to make sure the engine would turn over smoothly and.... problem. crank wont turn 360 degrees. more like 355. something stops it at almost bottom dead center, in both directions of rotation. Anybody have any ideas why?

Whip the top end off and see if you can see anything obvious through the crank, if you are lucky you might be able to lift out any bit of metal that might be in there with a wee magnet pointer type thing.

High beam indicator would be US only as far as I'm aware. Rear light gaskets are usually grey and can't remember seeing a black one before.

as tiberius says on the main beam indicator ,i think its part of the spec for some states legally.aswell as batterys so parking lights an brake light still work if engines off . there are black gaskets about but rare an hard to find ,some just paint a grey one ,as there difficult to track down in this country i'd reckon they wont be found in the states at all . if i can find one do ya want it posted to "yank-land" as it wont be cheap to do . Time to wrap up this project. Drove some 1400 miles to deliver the 90, but it was well worth it. Sea level makes a huge difference to the power. All part of my master plan to sprinkle vespas all over the country, so I have something to ride on vacations! Also started the next generation on 2 wheels! A big thanks to everyone on here, for the advice, the encouragement, and the pure love for these little shopping bikes!
