So what is the current going favorite for racing tires these days? It's time to replace the tt92's as the 3.50 was giving me no end of trouble with rubbing on the back @ 90+ mph.
We are hitting mostly big tracks this year so I figure you guys would know what's best for that?
Cheers & Thanks,
Dayn

The majority are using Sava MC31 for dry and monsum MC20 softs for wet.
The German lads favour the Heidenau K58 softs for wet I think

Hey Shaggy,
Thanks for the sesponse. Is it soft compound for the front and Medium for the back, or is the soft in the back and super soft up front?
Just having a quick look at some sites and it looks like the MC0 is a bit easier to get, well ScooterCentre have them anyway. Is there a reason for the Semi slick over the slick?
Cheers,
Dayn

I use sava monsum mc20 soft/medium on the front and back for road/city use and am really impressed with them, there's loads of leaves and mud around my work at the minute too and they have held well. they faired really well in the recent snow too. They aren't the same ones the racers use and are only half the price of the softs they use but if the ones i have are anything to go by id say go for it. Just need to decide on some summer tires now...

Cheers, Dayn, Shaggy`s reply is about spot on.. although i would say nearly all racing in the UK are on SAVA`s.. using softs for both wet and dry.. although beware if your scooter makes 90+ mph these wont last long at all... its a bit hit and miss as to what tyres rub or not though..... Slick tyres are a grey area over here, as to which circuits permit the use of them or not, and in which class..... A mate tried MC 0 slicks at a practice day on his 250cc Lambretta, with horrible handling results.. But im told some Italian racers racing Automatic Piaggio Zips have great results using sava slicks...... Its this series that the SAVA racing range of tyres were originally designed for...... Its also worth noting that some people have had excellent handling using both PMT & Pinasco rain tyres.... SIP sell these, albeit quite pricey... hope this is of some interest to you.. Col

If I remember correctly , Steve was having fork issues Ie they were a bit loose when he was trying these tyres? I remember Scott doing lots of adjustments as it was being a pain Im sure Steve said he'd like to try them again

Thanks all for the replies. I think I have it figured out now.
Oh and re the slicks, Mr. Woods mentioned to me that there was some issues getting them up to temp.
Cheers,
Dayn

His verdict on the tyre`s "never again"..
