Slow but sure change indicatoors to clear with black grills next and try to get rid of that ugly seam and holes

What can I do to level out the back seam one side is a few mm higher than the other and its a pain to fill and sand would emery paper manage to get it even all the way down?

Is the seam a 'lap weld' (one side has a step and then the two sides are spot welded together)? It looks different to the back of me primmy.
I cut the back in half in 6 inch sections along the step, removed the spare step metal and butt welded together. There's a picture somewhere in the gallery of a neat smallframe where the guy deseamed using filler, i try to find it...
