Is it possible to use proper gear oil with normal clutch corks, or is that a no go? I have some Castrol MTX 75w140 on the shelf that i used in the 210 with carbon plates, but won't try it if it fucks up the corks.

it ought to be fine,i used to spanner on trials and motocross bikes and they were ok on it.there's not many harder tests on a clutch than a few trials sections.

didn't get to test it. fitted a XL2 clutch with a 4 plate RMS kit and cosa Worb XXXL springs within them. At first it had a terrible drag (lots of resistance when kicing it wit clutch lever in), then the kick just locked up. any ideas before I pull it apart again?

It sure is. pulled the clutch and it still locks up. If I turn the engine backwards it frees up, but lock every 2nd turn of the Christmas tree when I turn it the right way round broken tooth on the kick cog? I'll split it and have a look this weekend.

problem solved, something had fallen into the case and got stuck in the box.
the clutch however doesn't disengaged properly at all. any common issued with double springed XL2 clutches? I have the GSF rep kit fitted.
what clutch cover has the longest travel of the push rod/mm of cable movement? I compared a short arm v50 cover to a XL2 cover, and the short arm seems to have more travel. have anyone researched this further?
doesn't slip tho (yet...)
