Sorry gents, I know its been covered already but struggling to find it, so does anyone have a list of what bits I need to swap and what loom changes need to be made when I put the 12v stator on instead of the 6v?
Cheers Shane

lammy looms in smallframes.... now dont be silly.. the loom is so simple you dont need all that hassle mate. This is what i do.. buy sleeve and wires from maplins. You run 6wires through the sleeve which is cut to length from headset to regulator position(use inner gear cable (eg) and solder the 6 wires to it.Then pull em thru). 1.pwr 2.side/town 3/4.brake light 5.horn supply 6.lt
use said inner cable to draw thru frame having threaded an outer down first. You just bend the outer slightly and split the coil then thread inner into it so it locks. Pull thru frame.
Nip sleeve at brake pedal aperture and withdraw one brake light wire, the other pull back from open end till you have two ends showing..then use a long pick to pull out sleeve at horn aperture, nip and snip horn wire and solder on two female spades for horn. At reg end you solder horn, one brake wire and pwr together and solder on female 6mm spade which goes on output from reg. The other brake wire goes to brake light and other side of bulb to earth. The same for the tail wire-to bulb and then to earth. (Run the brake wire and exposed tail wire in some sleeve back to tail light) At headset-cut length of sleeve to correct length. run live in (from reg) horn in (from horn) , lt in, and then 3 wires back which are hi, lo and side feeds. On headlight block ,connect the tail wire (in loom) to the side feed(you can run speedo light from this too) and then connect hi lo wires to hi/lo on block too. The lt wire earths thru switch as does horn circuit... All is needed now is an earth on the headlight block. Connect to one of the cable plate screws with eye conn.
And that is the easiest way i have found of doing the 12v conversion. Some attach wires beforehand to brake and horn bits and attempt to pull em thru but this can be hassle. The way i describe is what i have found to be the easiest.

Actually, just read other threads, and you (tony) refer to converting from points to electronic, I am converting an et3 to 12v so do I need to bother with the switches or should the ones I have be up to the job?? bit confusing all this like!! and by the time I have got all the bits, I could have probably got a varitronic type kit!!! bloody electrics
