Anyone seen it? ;D Seriously though lads... story goes as follows Out on a rideout on Wednesday night... get about 10 miles from home and scoot cuts out (It's a PK 50S Battery model with Electric start) Checked the obvious thisngs - loose connections etc... Found out I had no spark. Called the AA and got relayed home (Don't start me on the AA - Bad experiences!! ) Next day go back to scoot and starts 2nd kick!!?? Methinks loose connection somewhere so time to check out the wiring. the stator looks like it's had a bodge/repair before as it's got a piece of 3 core flex coming off the back and into the CDI Coil thingy. Whipped the flywhell off and someone (years ago I hasten to add) has had the Stator off before - I can't get the bloody thing off as they've chewed up 2 of the Cross headed bolts and the screwdriver just spins in the bolt heads... I'm gonna try and re-wire the Stator in situ (That should be fun) Then check over all the other wiring as it's the original 1983 loom Anyone know how to test the pickup/ignition coil(s) on the stator and any or other advice on tackling this issue... drill the head of the bolts. the rest should come out easily when the tension on the bolts are relieved.

OK Got the stator off (Bought a bolt extractor tool - excellent bit of kit...
Anyone know the what the resistance of each coil on the stator should be?

Finally got the thing running... First I changed the low tension coil on the stator as it was only reading 452 ohms and fitte a new cable from the stator to the HT coil.- Nothing! Then changed Electronic pick up unit on the stator, new HT Coil CDI thingy, new plug lead, cap and new plug. Then rewired the 6 pin plug coming off the stator and going to lights/ignition key etc...
It finally jumped into life this afternoon - Hallelujah !!
Only thing is now the ignition key doesn't do anything and I have no headlights or indicators. I'll have to check the bloody wiring again!!!
Someone remind me why we have these things???
