I was in my shed yesterday finally finding time to put things together for my pkM1L motor, i was getting all unnesercarily anal about things and decided to give my cylinder head and piston crown a quick polish, then i thought i give the main exhaust port some shine... i've never had a nicasil cylinder before... i used a very fine stone and went easy around the port, but it flaked!! i shat my pants.. i really didn't expect it to be that fragile.. its only maybe 1.5 x 1mm on the bottom corner of the exhaust port, i used some wet and dry to blend it , then cleaned it and tried the piston with ring, you could just feel the ring catching ever so slightly, so blended some more until it felt smooth with the ring....... what a fucking dullard have i completely fucked this lining or what? i don't deserve to live pass me the pills and vodka

I would say the blending should suffice. Like PJ said, good thing it was at the bottom of the port
