Does anyone know if it's possible to convert them for a twin cable set up and if so is there a part/kit available to do this?
Thanks.

firstly, can't you just replace the gear pully/selector arm with a normal one? secondly, i think some guy in minnesota fabricated a solution, i've emailed him to enquire

It's not a straight forward swop over, I know that much. Thanks for e-mailing the bloke, keep me informed. Cheers. BTW, if I can find out a solution for this we may be able to get LML Sensation parts at very competative prices. How does £20 for a complete clutch sound?

the cases and the linkage inside are completely different. you cant use any of a pk/pv etc linkage as it hasn't got the room for the circular cable holder. Ive had to think about this in depth as i had pkxl cases on my previous race engine. it was really hard to locate the gears as the single cable has no feel.
there is a guy in new zealand that converted a pkxl into a two cable case by having one cable pulling where the xl2 original cable was, and then another apposing cable coming around from the back of the engine (quite a bit longer length). it did work, but not very well.
i also dreamed up an idea that i never tried- by mounting a larger circular cable holder from the top of the cases (where the locating bolt is holding the internal selector), like a lambretta is setup. but its a lot of work, and hard to get at the cables. pity, as sensation cases are dirt cheap if bought from India.

Yes Hank.
A friend of a friend has the option to buy a fair amount of new old stock LML Sensation parts but he doesn't want to get his fingers burned by being stuck with a load of single cable cases. So he'll leave it unless we can find a solution.
Which is fair enough in my book.

remember when i joined and someone posted up a trick pk top end off ebay? Well that motor was an xl2 that i converted to twin cable. I put all the linkage outside the motor instead of inside. The pk wheel went on the bottom too..had to shorten one bit.. and it simply bolted onto the existing 5mm threaded hole. Had to locate the adjusters lower to the floor than usual to line up with the pulley wheel..Worked fine.. shame i didnt take a pic.

i'll try and contact the bloke to get a pic. think i binned his number ages ago tho. I'm not 100% clear in my own mind how i did it. I tend to not store stuff like that. Trying to think now.. i made a shaft with 5mm thread on which went in the existing cover hole. If you look this is about where the original center would have been for the pulley wheel on a pk. On this shaft went the wheel that was spaced out to clear the bottom of the casing. I must of modded the xl2 arm and remember making a new link piece that attached (braised) to the bas of the pulley wheel. It was basically a replication of the internal link but external. If someone gives me an xl2 case i'll do it.

hold on, remembered some more!! i had to grind out the slot in the wheel to clear the xl2 shaft.. so therefore the wheel sat over the shaft..yes.. coming back to me!

juan: how cheap can these engines be got then? i know the 125 top end kits are dirt cheap.
i've had a reply from that guy in the states, he's still on with his project but i'm not sure whether he's gonna convert to two cable or stick with one with an adapted primmy headset change, i didn't quite follow his answer (it is friday night, hard week!) i'll get him to clarify it.

that looks a pretty good solution gonna have to have some sort of cable guide to help the rear cable out though.
