Before I carefully rip dismantle the engine a few questions please. - I reckon I'll need a Vesp clutch remover, a Vesp flywheel holder & a flywheel remover, right? I've got nearly all Lammy tools (any double up?) and I'm open to bodges lol. - List of replacement parts (feel free to add) Bearings, oil seals, gaskets, woodruff key x2, tab washer x2, possible cruciform. quattriniI got some good books and found this - website.lineone.net/~smallframes/tech.htm but I'll take all the advice you can spare cause I like it apart and back together asap cause I always forget where bits go... Ta, Ben

A clutch compressor and a smallframe flywheel extractor, flywheel holder won't work.
TBH the Smallframes.com tech section is about as good as it gets but you can double check against scooterhelp if you want.

Cheers Juan,
I was looking at a diagram of the clutch compressor and I think I can bodge it with my lammy engine mount remover (big bolt and big plate washers).
That reminds me, I'll need clutch plates too.

I thought the flywheel tool could be used on almost any Vesp (small or L***e frame) but there was a small frame specific clutch removal tool.
But then again I know fuck all. ;D

A smallframe clutch extractor that is, the flywheel puller isn't smallframe specific. flywheel holder works fine.

Funnily enough I've got 2 FW extractors, the Buzetti works fine on any 'wheel but the non name cheap POS will only work on lardframes. Why I'm not sure.
And I must be missing a trick because I'm buggered if I can get the FW holder to work.I use a timber wedge. ;D

Does your POS flywheel puller not fit the threads on a small frame Juan or does it just not pull the flywheel off the crank?

I have an et3, points window specific smallie flywheel holder that works great. I use a large frame clutch holder to hold my PK flywheel in place...works well. It doesn't work on a plastic fin flywheel like an hp4.
Clutch compressor tool is just a large bolt with some washers.

Just pondering how to do that with an hp4 myself Mike.
Did you put the bolt into the hole in the wheel and brace the bar against the flywheel removal tool?

drill another hole.. get flat bit metal and put two bolts thru it through the two holes.. nicer if there is no threads on said bolts

why not get a rubber mallet and jam the rubber end on the flywheel and the handle on the floor. one make shift flywheel holder, thats if your engine is still in your frame.
