Oh and does anyone know if the small frame is spot welded?

Hi Rich, yes its spot welded that section, it would be easier to repair what you have if you are paying someone to do the welding for you(and cheaper) , thats a lot of prep work to do before you actually weld anything, have you any pics of the areas needed to repair?

Hi mate
Problem is I'm getting it powdercoated and so cant just fill it normally, might speak to the place and see what they use instead of a new back quarter.
Cheers Rich

We need some pictures Rich to make a better assessment of how to get your body work up to scratch. Quite often with a replacement panel you only need to cut out the bits you need and weld them in, rather than use the entire panel...
Have you had the scooter sand blasted (helps to see exactly what needs repairing)?

Hi mate The guys at the powdercoating do all the sand blasting and will do a certain amount of prep work, but think there might be a little too much. Maybe I should get the frame sand blasted locally and see how bad the rot is and go from there. I'll take some closer photos as well.
I'm still undecided as to whether to buy a 50s headset or to just use the 50n that is already on her, desisions desisions.
I'm also rebuilding a 125 Nuova at the same time, found the frame outside an old motorbike shop. Have a thread 'resurecting 125' which has some links to some photos.
