This is the PV I'm building for my father. These pics are taken before we bought it (still in boxes, but I'm getting closer). More to follow soon.. If it was mine, I would opt for less chrome, and more machine, but it ain't... On the bench: 12V PK ignition DR130 SHBC 19.19 carb ETS Crank ET3 Exhaust.

I love that red but the white ruins it IMHO but if he's happy who am I to argue?
BTW,did you get to the bottom of your problem with the pinch bolt on the headset?

We didn't decide the colors, long story. was painted years ago in Sweden and have been in boxes ever since. the pinch bolt.... well, no... Me and a mate had a look at some different smallframe steering columns , and it seems like the cutout was bigger on some of the older models (closed rim etc.). tried to grind it a bit, but no luck. It's bodged on with a normal M8 bolt temporarily. even that was tighter than it should be...

thats going to be lovely when its finished mate, keep us posted with more pics as you get more completed Thanks mate. I'm going to try to get some work done this weekend. Have most of the parts I need except a proper tank (can't use the tiny Swedish 3.5l tank), seat, horn, luggage rack and cable guide for the long arm clutch. Do you guys solder the wires for the brakeligh switch or should I get some tiny cable shoes? Got the new pickup fitted:

Just spent several hours trying to fit the exhaust, fuck that was a tight fit. I'm figuring out where to fit the CDI and regulator under the seat, and i got an idea that will make it a bit more roomy, and maybe improve airflow. Is there any reason why i shouldn't cut off most of the air box, and run the filter straight on the bell mouth on the SHBC 19.19? What plug to use with a DR135 kit? NGK 8 or 7?

I wouldn't bother trying to modify the air-box mate, either use it as is or throw it away. And I'd go with an 8 'plug.

Very very nice but whats up with the different sized gastanks? Your vespa50d on the smalfframe group right? we were talking about some rat-paint Evil_vespa_racer here ;D I'm working on the rat for the moment. Just posted a question on the BBS about how to fix some rust holes.. Btw, do you know if you have these flywheel covers in Norway? img168.imageshack.us/img168/937/11102006002nj0.jpg

michael, those rust holes, are those underneath the scooter? i had two very small holes underneath my scooter in the central frame bit where all the cables/wires are and with them being out of sight, I just cut out a couple of small pieces of tin (from a cake tin!) and stuck them over the holes using "liquid weld" - its a small tube of very strong sealer/adhesive which claims to be nearly as strong as welding. I then just smoothed over them with body filler and painted it.

Yeah, thats me. I'm building that scooter for my father, If it was mine i would be flat black.... Haven't seen those flywheel covers, the v50's in norway are almost all 4-speed 50s, or 4-speed 50 specials. post a thread with you project mate. Yep.. The rustholes are by the brakepedal. Here is the picture I posted on the BBS: img101.imageshack.us/img101/8471/untitled1st7.jpgI was thinking that epoxy filler might work. It's supposed to go superhard. And you can drill it and cut it and beat it with a hammer. But I don't really know anything about metal work. so it's a wild guess.

Maybe it's got something to do with the dansih 50's being restricted to only go 30 km/h. But thats a wild guess. I don't see why they would do it anyway But why do you have two different sized tanks?

you need it to dry though before it goes rock hard, it might fall out of the bigger holes as soon as you've put it in! ;D - of course, if youre putting some metal floor boards down, then you can just treat the rust and paint it, dont even need to fill them, no one will see.

And I know. But it should be a little faster.. And everybody buys the unrestricted exhaust elbow, which should get you a bit of power.. did you see the picture of the crank? www.down-and-forward.de/bilder/kw_schweden_1.jpgThe gear ratio is plain stupid too. (the same as the 50S, just a gear less : I have an illegal (if you register it as a moped) 50S that should top out at 35-40 mph..

But why do you have two different sized tanks? Nice crank.... hehe About the tank: This scooter was imported from Sweden where they had a weight limit on 125's. The PV's were sold with a 3.5 L tank to meet the requirements, and some Popolino's (VNB's) where sold with Aluminum sidepanels.
