Are those gears made out of plastic? How can they handle 30 HP?

I was thinking that - I'm guessing they're nylon?

Gear with black centre is from the crank, big gear to the left is counter rotation balance shaft, smaller to the right is water pump. Gears should be checked/replaced every 5 hours of running. Obviously that is 'flat out' race running. I've done about 25 hours and still have some good life in them yet.
Engines are £1400 + VAT new. There's always a few on ebay.

think they have the 2 sprockets, one on the wheel and one on the engine, down to them to what kind of accel and top end you get.

theres an automatic two speed, but the cases are a bit bigger. when i saw this engine for the first time, i was straight off to the kart shop to suss these engines out. the two speed engines have a little more hp. the 154cc polini barrels made for the rs125 will fit, and they produce a lot more hp, it would be cool to see how they work. might be a bit peaky for a single geared bike tho.
