Right, it seems there are a few cyclists coming outta the woodwork on here, so I reckon we get a thread going showing off our respective whips. Doesn't matter what it is - road bike, mountain bike, town bike, cruiser, BMX, whatever. If it's got pedals on it, show it off. Me first. It's an early '70s Falcon frame, not sure what tubing, but I think it might be Reynolds. My mate's dad paid a grand and a half for it to be custom-built and his mate bought another one like it so they could go touring on them. It's seen lots of Wales, I'm told. I got it a couple of years ago when I heard Simon was considering giving it to a charity shop, because it was just sitting in a shed doing nothing, while I was looking for a nice old-skool racer. I intervened, and it came to me as a 10-speed with absolutely everything as it was in the '80s, mech, wheels, tyres, the lot. Lent it to a mate who rode it off a tall kerb and killed the original steel rims, so I thought sod the gears, the derailleur is ancient and it weighs a tonne anyway, so I picked up a load of parts and slung it together. Kept the original crankset for a bit because the outer of the two rings served to keep my right ankle clean(er), but the cotter pins wore out and the inner chainring obviously wasn't up to snuff as a fixie bit, 'cos it exploded. £60 later and I actually end up with something better-looking than the original! Anyway, here's what I get from A to B on while the scoot's broken. ;D

Nice Bike Ollimonster, good score. I Had an alloy second hand road bike, which cracked the frame. Transferred the new bits over to this nice old raleigh frame with great patina. May consider going single speed one day, but I like a few gears. It's nice to ride, and matches my other weathered machines. www.flickr.com/photos/26543250@N07/5463421538/

Thanks! Yep, that ss50 was my daily rider, needs a rebuild though. Good spotting on the Kombi, clearly an enthusiasts eye I'll try to post pictures of stuff as I get more organised in the only recently acquired proper garage.

I love my bicycles simple as possible - just want to be able to power it to work and back 7 miles through heavy London traffic without worrying about chains coming off when changing gear or setting up derailleurs. This is my current steed - rode it to work this morning, 35 mins / 7 miles, shower in the office, done Okay, 'simple as possible' would mean getting rid of the rear brake and making it a fixie, but that's not really practical in London!

That's a frame I built for a guy from London. Pretty much the same concept as the Genesis, just different material and made to measure.
