I went Saturday and Tony didn't finish a race. He had problems with his rims or something in the first race and I am not sure what happened in the second, I didn't hang around after the race to find out. He went past me at the mountain and his motor was making a strange tweeting noise. It sounded like either his head was blowing, a bearing was breaking up or he was loosing a ring . It was a great day out and enjoyed the chance to see some race bikes and meet a few riders.I was really envious watching them pull wheelies off the top of the mountain and weaving up through the woodlands, nice to see so many smallies on the track too ;D

Only took a few pics all weekend....... Good weekend really. Race one my first race went well after a delayed start and then a red flag. After race one found oil on tyre and hub so replaced seal and gasket which seemed to sort it. Race two did sighting lap all felt great and was really up for it but got a puncture on lap1.......flat out into the first left!! Today was was just a shit day pretty much all round. Weather was bad, fuel spillage on track. I decided not to chance it as mega busy with work and didn't want to risk anything. Got my first race under my belt and really looking forward to the next. Spoke to Tony this aft, seemed ok. Lever bust and some paint required I think. Ste had a good warm up lap on race one then cut out on grid. It did fire again later after a new Cdi was fitted but things didn't feel right. Unfortunatley that was it for Ste for the weekend.......

firstly cheers for all you fellas that came along. Nice to meet Marco and Michael/Stoffi again.. they all ran well. Well done to Gareth and Ads, first time out for both of em and they did well too. Race one I had clearance probs from tyre to engine case which locked up the rear wheel.... then mid race on the second the threads stripped on the clutch cover and two bolts ground into my nice new ally rim. still.. was in 5th on the second lap from 29th. Went out in practice sunday mornin and discovered i'd overheated the disc and it had warped so braking was a nightmare specially as the weather was so wet. Anyway.. decided to go for it.. up to 2nd place and started to settle in behind charlie.. but hit the oil on the back of the track and just slid off.. Josh Brown did exactly the same one lap later.. Damaged the bars and need a little paint.. also will need a mint set of engine cases if poss if anybody has any as my cases have gone porous.. charley gummed em up for this weekend.

broken rib mate? what happened there? Bike has fairly minor damage.. next time i'll fit a 'wet' tyre to the rear instead of a dunlop 'semi-slick' Still I'm well pleased with the day. Getting to chase Charley again is more like it. Hitting a patch of oil is just bad luck. One of those things. The marshall said to me he had stated that the corner was unsafe and felt the meeting shouldnt have continued. The line me and josh took led us over the oil which you cant see. Never mind.

yeah it was great ..we had 8 smallies out. Saturday was dry but i had wheel clearance issues and pulled out after 2 laps having got up to 5th both times. Sunday was the weather from hell. Met a few new faces of here briefly.. but everyone saw i was rushing around trying to sort the bike.. just not enough prep time for this race. Oh well .. roll on next year.

Good day on the saturday, but when I did a padock walk, every single smallie apart from the austrians ones, had a rider laid underneath it with dirty hands... Best to leave them to it I thought... Thought I would have seen you in the club house to collect your trophy though Tony Best turned out scooter wasn't it? Very unlucky I would say... I was stood on hall bends when that oil went down, the next bike through went flying and every other one had their feet down going through there!!! From where I was stood you could see a line of oil that started about 5 or 10 yards off the top of the mountain, and like Tony says, went striaght along the fast line through all 3 bends!!! I went home just after that as you could tell it was gonna be a long time sorting, 2 of the marshalls were using it as a skid patch for the first 20mins..... gutted for you mate, but think the circuit could do a bit more to clean it up!! don't they just use cement normally... good weekend though apart from the weather...

yeah cheers mate.. glad you enjoyed it. We all had issues.. Marco broke a gear pulley and I got my mate Phil to braise it for him.. he also had his bike apart that nite and Stoffi and Michael were working hard too when i delivered a few beers to them. Ads got a puncture... gareth had a few probs... ste spun a crank i think.. it was all go! But sometimes thats part of it tbh. I had a warped front disc which i didnt have a spare for,, clutch went as the back wheel was dragging and eventually locked in two races. And then on sunday the bloody thing wouldnt drive under 7000 rpm again. So some setup is needed. All good fun tho.

overall a great weekend and a geat intro in to the world of scooter racing. thanks to all who pitched in and gave advice even though i may have struggled to accept it at times pity about the weather but it is the UK afterall. met some guys from the forum all of whom are very nice chaps and some others from the bsso who are really good fun. can't wait for the next outing that could actually be this weekend at 3 sisters if i get my finger out. by the way, i'm the one at the back.
