Right lads, Mum's bought herself a waterjet cutter. Basically, anything you want machined up, so long as it's 2D, we can do. Cuts anything from a sheet of paper to a foot of titanium, except toughened glass, which shatters grand style. Accurate to within 1 or 3 thou, Mummy dearest can't remember off the top of her head. Any shims, packers, (unstamped) floorboards, blanks etc. can be sorted. We even did ourselves a sign for the front door of our house. ;D Just send me a half-decent drawing with measurements and materials required and I'll get you a quote. CAD would make my life an awful lot easier, but scale scans or scale drawings will be fine too. Tremendously cool to watch, it fires a jet of water at 64,000psi travelling at 3,500mph at whatever is being cut. To put it into perspective, those pressure washers you clean your car with run at 120psi, and they bruise like motherfuckers. Bloody noisy though.

Ok Oli - could you do this..... I've got a new Vespa90 front script, original & unused - only problem is it is broken into 3 pieces. I was wanting to have some done from it as a template in some sheet copper about 1.5mm thickness thought I'd get in quick before you are swamped with orders

No worries swallow, if you could either send me some decent drawings, or even better send me the bits of badge themselves, I could get one drawn up, quoted and cut up for you. I could even send the original back if you wish... ;D
All in a day's work for me, scotia! You'll not believe me when I tell you she makes chicken coops with the waterjet... Well, coops, rabbit hutches, dog kennels, cat houses, lodgings for guinea pigs, ducks, geese and pretty much any other pet you can imagine. We're working on a few other ideas, too. She does a bit of subcontracting on the machine too, hence I get use of it.

Hi Oli,
When you get the font sorted I´d be interested in a "Vespa133" badge for the legshield, and a "Quattrini M1L" for the rear. 1.5, 2 and 3mm base packers for Polini would also be nice.
But no stress, when evr you got enough orders and you wanna do a set.
cheers
Nicklas

I agree Tony, I thought it was a joke when I started reading. The nearest thing my mum every bought to that was a knitting machine. Fooking thing that was, me and all my cousins got a blue jumper with our names written in block letters on the front in white. We looked like a right bunch of cunts and got paraded around everywhere so that mum could drum up some business. The mad thing was that people actually liked them. Anyway I digress, you mum sound like a top woman, look after her :-)

Right lads, back in-country, so the work resumes... Oh, and it couldn't knit names into jumpers, but it could probably put a hole in one in the shape of your name. Pressure washing the abrasive off the waterjet yesterday, and somehow managed to get my finger over the business end of the Homelite 172psi petrol washer jobbie we have, and it still put a hole in me. Hate to think what the big boy can do. Just out of interest, does anyone have an old lawnmower throttle lever anywhere? I need to rig up a throttle for the washer so I can leave it idling while the machine's running and run it up when I need to clean whatever's being cut. The washer's an auto-throttle so it's redlining the whole time and it's a bummer running down to the petrol station day in day out. Bodgery to follow...

...or maybe a quad throttle...

Possibly... Anything with a lever that I can clamp on to the 1" dia. handle. By the way, googlized "Quadbike Throttle" and what did I end up with? This.
