It makes the scooter more complicated, hence increases the likelyhood for something going wrong. The oppsite of reliability increase, so to speak.
Basics: the tuned length of a pipe depends a) on the pipe length and b) the sonic speed which is a product of the gas temperature. means, if cooled it takes the "pressure wave" longer to travel from the exhaust port to the end cone and back. Such it starts charging in a lower rev. range.

basically he is sayin you can widen the power band and also make the pipe more effective lower down.

dunno if you will get good use of this system on the road tbh. Road engines arent highly strung nor have pipes that would make good use of this system. But good on Marcus to give it a go. I think with a more radical pipe he would get benefit and of course more port duration. Be interesting to see the result. Charlie ran one 6 yrs ago on his grp4 but it was banned.
