Last year we split our season between Mac Track in McMinnville: & Pat's Acres in Canby: Mac is a little longer in the tooth for speeds, and Pat's is intensely technical - which tends to level the playing field quite a bit. For the coming season, we are looking to include tracks in Seattle: & Vancouver BC: as we have friends who made the effort to come race with us from both places and we would love to see this genre/hobby/sickness/industry grow here in the NW. ;D So far, the prospective numbers are looking good...

:-XI knew I would get a reaction out of that! ;D ;D Actually - they do expand a little bit once they're hot, but work comically well - to an alarming degree. I haven't had them glaze on me. I am looking at different disc setups, but they aren't my first priority just yet (they held up & worked that well). I know it's only a matter of time... Cheers. Glad you guys like the pics. More to come as our season picks back up in another month...

Great pics, looks like you've got the foundation for a growing scene...
Shame you guys are a little north, i'll be traveling on a scooter in the US next year but the nearest i'll get to you is the stretch from salt lake city through the bonneville flats then down to San Francisco.
Is there quite a scene in Portland? I was reading the BBS vintage board the other day and it seemed there were a few... ;D
ps. More pics please, we like pics ;D

Sugar - it's true the scene here continues to grow. We seem to have a pretty unique set of circumstances w/ the relative close proximities of Eugene, Portland, Seattle, & Vancouver BC. Each of them w/ their own scene separate of racing, but have been attending one another's other (rally) events all the same for years. Getting the racing thing going again has really motivated some people in surprising ways. This last year seems to have inspired a massive arms race for motors! ;D San Fran is about a 9 hour drive from us in Portland. So it's not terribly far, but it isn't really close, either! There is a rumor that some of the old ASRA guys from California will make a couple of our track dates... which would be awesome. Cheers!

Thanks fellas. ;D ;D As a relative newcomer, the comments mean a lot. All in all, I'm happy to contribute. Knowledge is power & I love these things. This forum is an enabler for many; myself included. Max - the motor setup in the #16 bike... is a chopped & GSF style ported GS piston-ed Malossi 136. Cylinder inducted w/ a vforce3 kx100 reed. VSP2race exhaust. 30mil dellorto phb. Gutted & welded 27/69 straight cut primary. The crank is a 20mil taper mazzy - nothing special. Et3 stator/early (non-exploding so far... ) hp4. It went through many, many clutches last summer - single spring style & xl2 (w/ all 12 springs!) style, corks & carbons throughout the season. I ran it at the Seattle track a month or so again w/ the DRT top plate that lets you run 5 plates and that seems to be finally hanging on using 4 malossi carbons & 1 thicker Newfren carbon. The bike is a story unto itself - as many are. I've been hit by cars on it twice over the years & it shows. It's like a worn out plushy toy I can't seem to throw away... Tony - That is a Derbi that my very good friend Brad is riding, and - yes! He is also active on some other forums. He will be back this year w/ that bike as well as some new toys.

Thanks for that Paddy. ;D
What manifold have you used for the V force reed and 30mm carb?

Its probably the thin steels you are using that causes the issue. Buy a set of falc plates. Use only 4 carbons with his 'steels'. I'm sure they will fit with the drt top plate.

oh btw I dont soak these plates with lauros steels. Use them dry. The falc clutch is basically a 'dry' clutch.
