any two wheeled vehicle first registered from 1986 onwards must be fitted with working indicators to pass the current M.O.T Unless your going for a daytime only test that is... as i said, not needed if its reg as a 50: If direction indicators are fitted they must meet the requirements of this inspection, but need not be fitted to a machine which: . cannot exceed 30mph / 50kph, or . was first used before 1 August 1986, or . 'off road' machines which are designed to carry only the rider. . 'off road' machines with side car designed to carry the rider and one passenger in the side car.be told - The Boss ;D

thats me told then... Mr Boss Man.. ( aka HANK) ;D ;D I'm just going by what my MOT testing mate has been telling me for years... on a serious note hank where shall i tell him to look for your quote, for future reference... the last time i was round at his having a test done on my scoot, a lad turned up on a Honda fireblade track day bike, race fairings with no lights or indicators the exhaust was ear splitting load... the number plate had a red round reflector about the size of a 50p stuck in the bottom corner, and the plate was stuck to the back of the race seat / fairing with velcro..?? This was enough for a daytime M.O.T.?? just didn't seem right to me.....

www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_150.htmmind you, i've seen plenty of PX's built after 1986 with the indicators filled in - how they get them thro' the test, god only knows? maybe they just get a daytime mot and either dont ride them at night or just take the risk - maybe plod doesnt easily pick up on that.

totaly agree with you hank... also every indian GP lammy that came into britain from about 1978 / 1979 ish was fitted with lollipop indicators and then latterly (1992 ish onwards) fitted with PK style ones one the legshields... you can probably count on one hand how many you see fitted and working today... how do they get by..?? not that youd want an indian lammy that is ;D ;D ;D ;D
