Here we go being the mad enthusiast I am I did it now. The first one is around 1988 I think.. my first year maybe. At cadwell park coming into the 'bus stop'. Its not used now as far as I know. Motor is a group 2 by Norrie. Second one is around 2000 at Anglesey. Posted this before I think. Motor is a group 3 malossi rotary.

These old race photo's are brilliant. Really fire up the enthusiasm to get some racing under way. In '88 I was buzzing around on a PK50 thinking I was Norrie but never got round to seeing any racing then. Someone mentioned hillclimbs - I have done a few in the past but never on a scooter - anyone else ever done one? There's a great meet at Barbon, South Lakes, in spring that a lot bikes do. It would be great to turn up with a handful of smallies and have a crack. If you don't have an ACU licence they let you pay for a day licence as a try out. Road legal is okay and the runs are about 60 seconds or less. Need a good front barke though!

I figured it wasnt so far to fall off! Here's one from Mallory 2000 at the esses..its changed now as you used to go flat through there but good ol' health and safety changed it.

Nope thats Phil Braithwaite around that time we were evenly matched. You always end up racing with the same people and hence why he was close at Anglesea. He was a very good racer indeed.

im loving these photos didnt realise that was Phil on the lammy, i know him and his bonkers son Barrie Carnaby raceway is / was in Bridlington, that race meeting was august bank holiday monday 1988 ... I went to the the National rally in Morecambe that weekend, i set off back very early to go to watch the racing... Flat out near York and my P2 seized solid, so with no breakdown cover i hid it in a farmers field, i set of walking carrying my helmet and thumbing a lift... within no time a lad pulled up on a Honda CBR 600.. "Whats wrong mate do you want a lift..?" he says Yes please mate ive just seized my bike.. i reply " oh what bike is it..?" he says a Vespa .. i reply the next thing the big fat tosser is off into the distance on the back wheel.. with me stood at the side of the road just putting my helmet on.. never made it to Carnaby in the end..... happy-ish times

I remember 1st seeing that Rally of Marks in his garage, his parents live in this posh part of Oxford and he`d dig it out of the garage and fire it up.It was so loud as the tailpipe had no packing as it was a mechanical type but all the windows used to move in all the houses when he would rev the nuts out of it but id still have to have a blat down the road on it.They must of hated him there.

I dunno who is on the ss.. but the grp5 lammy is an old mate of mine Alan Jones. He didnt race a lot. The bike was a replica of Graham Bests (kegra) grp 5.
